No matter how much fun I have creating dramatic and interesting makeup for work, for my own makeup I just want to look nice with minimum effort. I want my skin to be clear and my eyes to be pretty, simples! Eyeliner is one of the quickest and easiest ways to define your eyes but with so many options it can get confusing. Liquid liner requires skill, practice and most of all patience. Gel liner requires a brush and a fast hand to avoid drying. Pencils are the simplest option but traditional kohl pencils don't last well. They glide on and blend beautifully, but the creamy texture can keep blending down your cheeks for the rest of the day leaving you with panda eyes. When choosing your pencil you need to read the small print, looking out for catch words like "long-wear" and "waterproof" that will make your life so much easier. Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Eye Pencil is my new favourite product to create a quick and effective eye look. I always love Bobbi's foolproof colour choices, even the blue and green options are very wearable. My favourites are a smudge of "Bronze" to finish off my beachy tanned glow, a thin line of "Black Plum" to compliment my green eyes, or a full cat eyed flick of "Mahogany" for a dramatic night look, a change from the obvious black. Keep your pencil sharpened to create thin lines and flicks. For a softer look, smudge with a little brush straight after applying the pencil, before it dries and sets into a waterproof formula.
